How to play
Start with the big blank space and draw your creature any way you like.
Then bring it to life.
Give it a name. Choose its colours. Invent a special power. Decide where it lives and what it likes doing.
And don't forget:
Even friendly creatures can have worries.
For grown-ups
Try not to lead the drawing.
Instead, get curious about the world your child is creating:
“Tell me about your creature.”
You might be surprised by the story that follows.
A little idea
When the creature is finished, ask your child to introduce it to the family.
Where does it live?
What makes it happy?
What is its special power?
What is it afraid of?
What would it say if it walked into the room right now?
For children who enjoy storytelling, ask:
“What adventure should your creature go on?”
